A New Path for Sustainable Agriculture – Biodynamic Farming Training Camp

A three-day training program on “Basic Biodynamic Agriculture” was successfully conducted at Inba Seva Sangam, Kadavur, organized by AHIMSA NGO. More than 30 farmers from the surrounding villages participated in the training and benefited from the program.

The training program was inaugurated by Dr. N. Markandan, Former Vice Chancellor of Gandhigram Rural University, who emphasized that sustainable and regenerative farming practices are the need of the hour. He highlighted the importance of adopting eco-friendly agricultural methods to ensure long-term soil health and food security.

Mr. Chandrasekar, President of the Biodynamic Association of India, spoke about the importance of biodynamic agriculture in protecting soil fertility, addressing climate change challenges, and improving farmers’ livelihoods.

The training sessions were coordinated by Dr. Perumal, Secretary of BERAS India, along with master trainers from the Biodynamic Association of India, Mr. Jayson J. Jerome and Mr. Anbu, who guided the participants throughout the program.

The morning sessions focused on the theoretical aspects and core principles of biodynamic agriculture, while the afternoon sessions included practical demonstrations and hands-on training, such as the preparation of BD compost and other biodynamic inputs.

Farmers actively participated in the sessions and gained practical knowledge on soil restoration, natural farming techniques, and sustainable agricultural practices. The program provided a meaningful and transformative learning experience for the participants.

The enthusiasm and active involvement of the farmers reflected the growing interest and confidence in biodynamic and regenerative farming practices for sustainable rural development.

This three-day initiative, filled with meaningful learning and practical exposure, marks a promising beginning toward a more sustainable future in agriculture.
